If a person can paint a house in 3 days, then in x days, they paint x/3 of the house. Using this logic:
x/3 + x/5 = 1
5x/15 + 3x/15 = 1
8x/15=1
8x = 15
x = 15/8
Working together, it will take 15/8 or 1 7/8 days.

Well, the person that can do it in 5 days can paint 20% of a house a day, and the one that can do it in 3 days can paint 33.3% of a house a day, so….. 33.3% x 2 = 66.6% and 20% x 2 = 40% and 66.6%+40%= 106% so the anser is just under 2 days
