Some areas of AZ are very expensive, some have CC&R’s (aka subidivision rules), and there are alot of retirees in Arizona.
Other than that, buying a house is about the same no matter where you want to call home. Find out what you can comfortable afford, get a great local mortgage lender, find a Realtor to work with and go house shopping.
It doesn't matter if you're a home owner, renting a home, looking to buy or sell a home, or are repairing homes for others, we can offer you all sorts of DIY tips.

The best advice is to find an agent that SPECIALIZES in Relo to Arizona.
Go to their web site and request a "Relo Packet’
This will have all kinds of goodies.
Maps, info about the different cities, schools, crime, income, biggest employer, sports, weather, taxes, and on and on.
That’s where I would start if I was moving to Arizona.
Good Luck
